On April 22, 2021 the world will be celebrating the 51st Earth Day, a day we take to thank our planet and support the preservation of biodiversity worldwide.
Earth Day’s 2021 theme, “Restore Our Earth,” examines natural processes, emerging green technologies, and innovative thinking that can restore the world’s ecosystems. It’s important to realize that our planet needs help from every person and every action you do for the Earth helps build a better future for generations to come.
There’s a wide range of ways you can help save our planet, even by making small changes within your daily routines. Here’s a few ideas:
- Support the Great Global Cleanup and pick up any trash left behind by you or others while you spend quality time outside. This will help prevent plastic as well as other harmful waste from ending up in our storm drains and gutters, which could eventually flow into our oceans.
- Check what chemicals you are using at home in your household cleaning supplies. You can help protect your planet by switching to eco-friendly cleaning supplies such as a neutral soap free of harsh chemicals.
- Help reduce plastic pollution and stop the contribution to greenhouse gases! When plastic is exposed to the elements it releases methane and ethylene, which are the two most powerful greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change. Go green and use reusable water bottles to prevent more plastic from being sent to landfills.
Restoring our Earth takes teamwork, and we’re here to help you get started. Participate in our Earth Day Campaign for a chance to win a Aquifer Blue Yeti Rambler. Entries are open from April 19 to April 30 on our social media channels.
